Shakespearean Sonnets

So fun! So fun!

  1. Made to write a Shakespearean sonnet,
    About what I did last week on spring break.
    How? I can't rhyme. I'm 'hooked on phonics'!
    If only I'd eaten a juicy steak...
    Instead I worked at toys in the attic!
    Also performed in yearly march concert
    Precious 4's, dancing, sometimes erratic.
    Dancing, I tried not to over-exert.
    Went with my youth group on winter retreat.
    Sold stuffed goat or rooster to weird lady,
    After dancing, had sore and smelly feet.
    Goat lady's request was rather shady.
    In short, my spring break was pretty boring;
    'cause most of last week, it was pouring.

  2. Why is it like having food for the kings?
    It looks like dull colors in a rainbow.
    I have enjoyed millions of other things.
    But enjoyed never, once anything so!
    When I think of other tastes I don't think
    of what I had today but what I had
    in my earliest years. then I think
    Of what about a week ago I had.
    The fragrances were different not plain.
    It had many flavors and crustaceans.
    Although it's originally from Spain
    The USA and Spain are apart by an ocean .
    Forget this very taste I never will
    this taste in Sprig Break 2011 was very swell

  5. Conflicted

    It is you that I do not understand.

    Thou doth confound me and thou art cruel.

    I beacon your call as your dearest slave.

    I cower to your voice in times of terror.

    Master, you are not who you say to be.

    You’re a disloyal, unfaithful, cheater.

    Never could I ever trust your dark soul.

    I’m pushed away and never coming back.

    I shadowed your doings to be like you,

    But you’ve never lived, I dusted your grave.

    What you’ve done is not my fault; you’re a monster.

    I live in peace, while you rest in regret.

    With you, or without you, I am right.

    Without me, you too can always be right.

  7. Freeze

    Could my feet today be as cold as ice?
    Stiff like a dead body in the grave.
    If that cold and stiff then it wouldn’t be nice.
    I want a pair of snug socks for a save.
    If my feet were as cold as winter’s frost
    I feel the iciness between my toes,
    I might think that I am the new Jack Frost
    Soon they might turn into a block of snow
    But what if the socks do not warm me up
    The situation looks like I am stuck
    Maybe warm up some tea in a large cup
    Add much sugar so it won’t be too yuck
    I do not want the cold in my little toes
    In this world it’s quite easy to get cold.

  8. Lines o’ Color
    Colors, colors all around in my head,
    These bright bursting colors will be super,
    Will it turn out right, will it be too red?
    With these I’ll be rolling like a trooper.
    Waiting long, the result will be splendid
    Sit in the chair, color will be added
    In the back, the colors will be blended
    Very comfy, the chair will be padded
    Rinsing it all out, we’re almost finished
    From curly to straight, a change was to come
    Foil was all over, now it’s diminished
    All it took was some fingers and a thumb
    The final result came out really great
    I’m starting to believe that this was fate

  9. Currents running through me

    A huge monster surrounding them some see.

    Being both vast and rough is seen as crime.

    But do these opinions apply to me?

    No, surely these strange views cannot be mine.

    Her waves powerful beyond compare

    And she can also cause a dreadful mess;

    She always holds and will forever care

    For the nutrients that she does posses.

    No, her never ending beauty wont fade.

    Nor will her currents fail to offer us

    Relaxation or emotional aid.

    Experiencing her love is a must.

    I dream one day that everyone will see,

    And love her with their full heart just like me.

  10. Going Back Home
    On to the most magical place on Earth
    Run by small nasally mice and pixie dust
    Small children fascinated by the worth
    Not a single machine covered in rust
    For every sane person loves it here
    Shows us our place in the circle of life
    From racing cars to drinking German beer
    While villains come out watch man hold his wife
    Watching the fireworks at the castle
    Nothing can be better than this moment
    Until fighting the crowd becomes hassle
    Then hitting small children causes regret
    Monorails say “Por favor mantengase”
    Headed home the hurt is bittersweetness

  11. A Place of Fun

    How long does your sand reach, your water stretch?
    To me, they go as far as the eye sees.
    I watch the people and see dogs play fetch.
    Kids in the water, but only to their knees.
    Going to this place is such a great dream.
    I create brilliant castles for all to see,
    Imagining them larger than they seem.
    From the sun, an Indian I’ll be,
    But with plenty block, no cancer for me.
    This paradise in the sun I always love
    A place of fun, where I want to be.
    It brings me joy and it takes me above.
    On my towel all day, I look at the sky
    And see wondrous shaped clouds pass by.

  12. Chirp Chirp

    Is the love we have still strong as before?
    I think it was about 3 months ago
    When we met while I was on my warm floor
    Laying there watching a BET show.
    You had been waiting for me many months
    Wondering when I would join the best team.
    Just so I could be greeted with triumph
    And treated like a superior queen.
    Once I joined I became addicted.
    Your characteristics were like a drug.
    Just like the other addicts predicted
    I want to shower you with many hugs.
    I think you saved me from my misery
    So our love will last for eternity.

  13. True Colors
    What is the true color of trees and bees?
    Blind men would not know, do you truly know?
    When eyes are blurred, fields of grass are not green.
    No, one can not pick up details like so.
    When someone’s vision for so long is the same,
    They think their eyesight is perfect and well.
    Yes, sea is blue and deaf and blind and lame.
    Yes fish swim and a homerun is swell.
    But when a tiny lens is placed upon
    The eye, one’s eyes see a whole new world around.
    Those same trees have green leaves, bees are now on
    Flowers with petals. The sea has waves aboud
    Those same eyes now see wh precise detail
    Without, my eyes would be an utter fail.

  15. Is sixty minutes enough for one thrill?
    My eyes get big every step I go in
    As I go deeper it becomes more real
    Little did I know I got trapped in a pin

    Every step I take my legs start to ache
    As time flies by and my phone starts to die
    I soon realize that this wasn’t my fate
    I tried to walk down but I was too high

    Two hours later I sit in my seat
    Then closed my eyes to avoid the surprise
    Five minutes later I’m back on me feet
    I ran to my dad until my cries died

    I never plan to ride that ride again
    Next time I will remember to restrain

  18. Big Ball of Yellow
    Oh, are you what you seem or something new?
    You stick ‘round for a short bit of time.
    Are your looks real to only just a few?
    How can I capture you into a rhyme?
    Your colors blend like tie-dye in the blue
    and make me want to take a quick picture.
    If you could know that what I say is true,
    things would be much better in the future.
    Only you can turn on the big, bright light
    that shows people the beauty of the earth.
    You’re up in the sky shining oh so bright.
    there is not a limit to what you’re worth.
    You are old and new to everyone here
    and your light takes away my deepest fear.

  19. Memory Lane Up in the Headlights
    What does ev’ry sixteen year old think about?
    The foot on the gas, and hands on the wheel,
    Driving down the road ready to hangout.
    The freedom driving gives me, feels unreal.
    Windows down, hair blowing ‘round in the wind,
    My thoughts limited. My eyes on the road.
    Making memories that won’t break or bend.
    Weaving through lanes like they’re a secret code.
    Music is blaring as the car takes off.
    Horns are honking; a few drivers get mad,
    But not me, I’m happy; my heart is soft.
    My friends catch rides from me now, I might add.
    Ray bans on, going nowhere specific;
    Driving ‘nywhere; singing to the music.

  20. Recognize the Infinite

    Alone beneath the midnight sky we sit;
    If only we had gone the other way;
    One turn we took astray we do admit;
    To where shall we go in this vast display?
    Some think that our elders didn’t care,
    But these little children have nev’r believed
    That just one turn can take us anywhere;
    For it is all about how we perceive
    The curve balls that are thrown into our days;
    For we can get some help at any time
    From those whose love for us is set ablaze
    Because we have a passion in our climb;
    So pay attention to the signs around;
    The paths to take are going to abound.

  21. FRIENDSHIP
    Lo, in the west, the brilliant light
    Lowered his head, take away all the warmth
    The eyes now converted to detached
    From the gaze with a passionate reverence
    Then the world calms down and stars appear
    Covering with the warmth of the lights
    Feels like the feelings when I think about my dear
    Warm, clam, pure, unchangeable, bright
    They art much brighter than a spring’s day
    They art even warmer than a summer’s day
    They art more mature than a fall’s day
    They art more pure than a winter’s day
    The real friendship will never fade,
    However the time change or the well-being of the world

  22. Night to Dawn on the Shore
    Where shall I go for refuge and silence?
    Nothing can ever shade me from this heat
    I toil, fall, sob, there is no guidance
    The world continuously moves to beat
    Early I rise for moments with my soul
    Step by step I am in search for substance
    Desperate to climb from this deep, dim lull
    Dare I say that this may be my last chance?
    Gazing upon the change black to yellow
    Familiar but I scarce recognize it
    Then a burden lifts and takes place a glow
    Finally, a way out a path is lit
    I leave the vas blue without the mock mask
    Oh this warmth; I hope to remain and bask

  23. Pursuit
    The jagged cobblestones that cover the street
    Jostled the van periodically.
    I turned to see his hurried, running feet
    He waved in protest methodically.
    Tried to keep up, in his own tears he drowned.
    In his eyes, evident desperation
    Overwhelmed by those emotions profound.
    This, such an unfamiliar sensation.
    Hand pressed against the window, let me stay.
    One last glimpse at a face no more afraid.
    My heart was broken as we pulled away
    Into the distance his cries would not fade.
    Why must I leave these beloved faces?
    Soon return and relive our embraces.

  24. Ocean Breeze
    Sitting on the seat, wobbling side to side
    Weaving back and forth across the pavement.
    I'm supporting the seat, risking his pride.
    Frustration gives way , his patience is spent.
    Pleading, pleading, you have almost got it.
    He hoists himself back up reluctantly.
    Another fall gives him determined grit;
    Anxious to please the hopeful family.
    The helmet is readjusted with pluck.
    A gust of wind comes from over the sea;
    I pull my hand away trying my luck
    It came with a quickness none could foresee.
    The pedals a blur, spinning round and round
    Head held high with the pride of one just crowned.

  25. The Colors of Freedom

    The colors of freedom: red, white, and blue.
    The blessings we do receive aplenty;
    Stories, marbled walls do tell, old and new.
    We roamed until our food tanks were empty.
    Wind whips through my hair as I walk down streets;
    Swift shoes pace the pavement down many blocks.
    In peace of the lodge, I rest from tough feats;
    While museum halls work around the clocks.
    Cherry blossoms abloom this time of year.
    All quiet and still the army guard stead
    The click of his heels all people do hear
    Guarding the grave of the war’s unknown dead
    Snow-covered hills out of the car we see
    It was and still is the land of the free

  26. Worth the Wait

    How long should one wait for a bite to eat?
    seventeen minutes in the freezing cold
    Then thirty minutes in the pleasant heat,
    Is this too much because one might grow old?
    Standing behind the row of fourteen stools,
    patiently watching others' food cooking,
    Getting reprimanded if you break rules,
    There are many notable awards hanging
    On the walls and the smell of food in the air
    They have food for every picky eater
    The server are courteous and they care
    Make your coat warm hanging it on heater
    The food and service is obsolete
    Al's Breakfast is an awesome place to eat.

  27. Morning Glories
    Is it weird that sunlight makes me feel free?
    My friends still sleep because it is early,
    But I go for a stroll along the sea;
    Too bad it will make my hair go curly.
    Tie up my laces and head out the door,
    Trotting on cement before I hit sand
    But, oh, I can now spy the ocean shore.
    Down where the water hits shells on the land
    Is where I start my pace and lose my thoughts.
    Sun rising; I wonder what is out there,
    Aliens, rocket ships, or astronauts?
    Our life and worries are too much to bare.
    Please don’t let this morning come to an end
    It’s back to reality, such a trend.

  28. Seduction
    What makes it beautiful with all its scales?
    She is captivated, but fears the same
    Slowly and careful, she grasps to the rails
    And declines to join the monster’s fair game
    He glides upon water to meet with her;
    His teeth sparkle as he rises from dark
    Yellow eyes gaze upon her, such a lure
    His skin in the light looks like old dead bark;
    She turns with a start as her parents scream
    Quickly he lunges but utterly missed
    As she’s pulled away; cheeks stained with tear streams
    She is a creature he cannot resist
    The sun sets but yellow eyes shan’t be dimm’d
    He waits in the water, his belly thinn’d.

  29. The Unanswerable Question

    Why me? The question never leaves my head;
    Is there a reason behind this madness?
    Maybe I should have just stayed in the bed;
    Or should I have taken one dribble less?

    From the school season that was just awesome,
    Those games resembled my own fairytale.
    Now I sit on the sideline, like a bum,
    Just ‘cause I fell and tore my acl.

    This seems to be my not so lucky fate.
    But I’ll be back to normal in a bit,
    It won’t be too late to win next year’s state.
    It’s just six months, I can handle it.

    Now it’s time to defeat this injury,
    So here goes nothing- my road to recov’ry.

  30. Effects of the Beach

    As I stand here feeling the sun on me
    I can’t help but wonder what is out there,
    As I look, starring across the blue sea
    I can’t help but notice the things so fare;
    The beach, the water, the creatures so grand
    Make up the sunny world thriving around me,
    Lengths of the beach create the feeling of sand
    The white sand so full of divinity;
    My feet crushing the white and silky sand
    Leave behind hundreds of tiny foot prints,
    But can be erased at a swipe of’a hand,
    Though I am gone the beach contains my scent.
    Although there is much terror in this land,
    Peace is always lying deep in the sand.

  31. Friends Never Fail

    What is the best thing I did over break?
    Kelby, Madison, and I watched softball.
    We even went out to eat for pete's sake.
    Madison and I even watched baseball.
    We went to the mall and shopped for awhile.
    She even bought Matthew three big cookies.
    When we are together it makes me smile.
    We even had fun even though we missed Snookies.
    The baseball game seemed like it lasted hours,
    Even though Ringgold won in four innings.
    It was another increase in their winnings.
    Overall, break was great with my best friend.
    I feel like I could not have better friends.
